Job Description

Cobb Industrial Inc. (CII) is a Structural Steel Fabricator and Erector based out of Holly Springs, GA seeking an individual to join our team as a Purchasing Assistant. Your role will be to assist and support the Purchasing Manager in day-to-day tasks while ensuring materials are ordered, received, reconciled, and filed in a timely manner. If you have a strong analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and a deep understanding of steel-related projects, we invite you to apply.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Working with the Purchasing Manager to ensure that Purchasing tasks are completed in an efficient, effective, and timely manner while ensuring that cost saving measures are being taken every step of the way.
• Learn purchasing process and procedures that meet both CII and AISC standards.
• Assist Purchasing Manager with Order Entry.
• Assist Purchasing Manager with material procurement.
• Receiving and Reconciling Supplier bill of ladings against open purchase orders.
• Recording, Scanning, and Filing BOL’s, MTR’s, and Heat Numbers.
• Working with warehouse staff to compare deliveries with purchase orders to identify discrepancies
• Retrieving documentation from Suppliers’ and CII personnel as needed.
• Sourcing suppliers based on price, availability, necessity, quality and logistical expenses
• Maintaining cordial working relationships with vendors and supervising vendor activities
• Solely responsible for maintaining leased tool inventory.
• Solely responsible for regularly booking travel accommodations for field crew members and upper management.
• Solely responsible for tracking travel costs.
• Solely Responsible for purchasing office supplies and managing inventory.
  
  

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old
• This is a Full Time Position (40+ hours per week minimum)
• This is NOT a remote position
• Must be comfortable sitting at a desk for 8+ hours per day.
• Required to be available after hours for field crew members needing hotel accommodation.
