We are seeking a highly organized Purchasing Agent & Administrative Support professional to assist our Interior Design team in the delivery of temple projects for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This position supports the full lifecycle of furniture, finishes, and equipment (FFE) procurement and helps maintain data accuracy, design archives, and vendor communications. The primary focus of this position is temple-related FFE support; however, you may also contribute to furniture specification and procurement tasks on other project types—including Higher Education, Commercial, and Civic work—based on project needs and your interest or availability.
In this position you will support designers by managing procurement logistics and administrative tasks, including acquiring pricing and quotes, coordinating samples and shipping, tracking product approvals, and maintaining digital archives. You will also assist with specification writing and support the maintenance of our design resource library. This position is key to the smooth execution of complex projects and will support projects through accurate, efficient back-end coordination.
In this position, you will:
- Coordinate with designers to request and track samples, pricing, and vendor quotes
- Assist in product comparisons and supplier evaluations for furniture, fixtures, fabrics, and finishes
- Enter and maintain accurate procurement data in internal software systems and purchasing platforms
- Track shipping, delivery schedules, and approvals for all items through installation
- Prepare and organize specifications and archive documentation for future reference
- Maintain up-to-date supplier records and organize digital and physical materials libraries
- Generate regular status reports related to purchasing, budget tracking, and logistics
- Assist with maintaining project records and materials databases for use across multiple temple projects
- Support the Design Librarian in vendor outreach and library organization
- Be willing to learn programs such as Revit and Adobe InDesign to better support design workflows
- Contribute to furniture specification tasks for other sectors (e.g., Higher Ed or Commercial) as needed
Required Skills And Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational excellence
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Analytical thinking and comfort with data tracking and reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with databases or procurement software
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or administrative support in a design or architecture setting
- Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Bluebeam/PDF markups, or Revit (or willingness to learn)
- Strong time management and self-directed work habits
- Interest in long-term contribution to temple design work
Qualifications And Education Requirements
- High school diploma required; college coursework or associate’s degree in business, design, or a related field is a plus
We offer a salary that is competitive with the market and commensurate with your experience. This position is an hourly, overtime non-exempt position. We are seeking someone to work 30-40 hours a week.
