Job description

Job Responsibilities

1. Execute all purchasing related activities of product development as assigned within the specified commodities.
2. Leverage vendors/subcontractors across multiple procurements to create cost savings to project(s).
3. Work with the Value Stream group acting as a liaison between suppliers and plants.
4. Identify any gaps within the existing supply base relative to future product development. Communicate the need to the Commodity Manager so that development work can be completed in time to support project.
5. Actively develop budgets, schedules and performance plans to meet customer and company goals and objectives.
6. Bring approved suppliers into development projects to support new product development.
7. Maintain close relationships with suppliers and take a proactive approach in interfacing with them to resolve issues.
8. Monitor shipments to ensure goods come in on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods.
9. Negotiate all pricing for all permanently outsourced materials and/or parts in accordance with target costs and departmental goals.
10. Support cross-functional team initiatives around total cost improvements and supply vulnerability reductions.
11. Perform all purchasing activities in accordance with current company policies and procedures.
