Job summary

Hastings ISD 200 is seeking a Pupil Support Assistant (PSA) for HMS Tennis to assist in maximizing the learning experience of a student with special needs during tennis participation.

The role is approximately two hours per day, Monday through Friday, with a start date of 9/2/2026 and end date of 10/8/2026. Compensation starts at $19.40 per hour for non-contracted hours.

Qualifications

• Two years of qualifying college credits or an associate degree with coursework relevant to student support.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with daily living activities.
• Reliable attendance and ability to follow program direction.
• Demonstrated flexibility with schedule and activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead staff in providing behavior reinforcement and support student needs during tennis practice and matches.
• Support interpersonal, daily living, and social/emotional needs of the student.
• Supervise and assist student during arrival and departure from practices and matches.
• Maintain flexible, responsive assistance as the program requires.

Position Purpose

PSA will assistin maximizing the learning experience of children with special needs during their participation with Middle School Tennis

Hours:

• Approximately two hours per day, Monday through Friday, and Matches if student participates


• Position begins 9/2/2026 and ends 10/8/2026

Responsibilities & Duties

• Assist lead staff in providing behavior reinforcement and managing student'sneeds while at tennis practice and matches


• Assist and supportinterpersonal skills and activities, daily living needs and social/emotional needs for student


• Ability to be flexible with schedules.


• Supervising and assisting student duringarrival/departure from tennis practices and matches

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the following requirements:
  
  
  
  • at least two years of qualifying college credits (usually 60 credits in Minnesota) through an accredited institution of higher education, or;
  
  
  • an associates or higher degree, with qualifying course work, or;
  
  
  • a passing score on a valid and reliable formal assessment.
  
  
  
  


• Ability to follow program direction as provided by program coordinator.


• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in weightand support students with activities of daily living


• Ability to demonstrate prompt, regular and reliable attendance


• Starting Rate of Pay $19.40 per hour if non-contracted ( less than 11 hours per week )
