Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking an Assistant Foreman to support project execution, coordinate equipment mobilization, and ensure safety compliance on site. You will lead tear-down of systems, manage resources, and work closely with project leadership to meet timelines.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, travel up to 90%, and strong mechanical and communication skills. A high school diploma and mechanical experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is typically required; additional technical certifications or education in mechanics or engineering is a plus
• Prior experience in a mechanical, maintenance or related role specifically with bypass pumping, generators, power distribution, a/c and heat and water restoration or construction equipment
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical/electronic interfaces
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints and schematics
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent verbal and written skills to interact effectively with customers, team members and internal resources

Responsibilities

• Core Project & Operational Support
• System Mobilization and Decommissioning: Directly assist and lead the setup and tear down of equipment for various operational systems, including: Pumping Systems; Power Generation and Distribution Systems; HVAC Systems; Energy and Temporary Utility Systems
• Emergency and Disaster Response: Actively participate in the rapid deployment and management of resources for disaster restoration and emergency response efforts
• Safety and Compliance Leadership: Promote and maintain a safe work environment by ensuring strict adherence to all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices for every task and duty
• Execution Support: Collaborate closely with Project Leads and management to monitor project timelines and resource allocation
• Performance and Delivery: Ensure projects are completed on time and that all deployed equipment is running efficiently to guarantee profitable delivery and client satisfaction
• Requirements: Education & Experience with High school diploma or equivalent; travel
