Job summary

SARA, Inc. in Colorado Springs is seeking a Pulsed Power Engineer to support rapid R&D on pulsed power systems and high-voltage technologies. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to design, analyze, and implement solutions for defense-related programs.

The role requires hands-on hardware experience and strong communication skills, with travel and security clearances as needed. Excellent growth opportunities exist within a tight-knit engineering group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 2–4 years of Pulsed Power, Power Electronics, High Power Switching, Applied Electromagnetics, High Voltage (1 to 100s of kV).
• Ability to clearly communicate experimental procedures, data, and analyses in person.
• Able to multitask and meet project objectives.
• Experience using basic DAQ equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, voltage probes, current probes, spectrum analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to R&D in pulsed power and related systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, physicists, and technicians on DoD/DoE programs.
• Design, analyze, and test high-power switching, pulsed power networks, and insulation.
• Prepare technical briefings and deliver results to teammates and stakeholders.
