ND Paper is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for the Pulp Mill in Rumford, ME. The role oversees maintenance teams, drives reliability, and partners with operations to maximize asset performance.

The position emphasizes safety, cost control, and continuous improvement across mechanical maintenance, outages, and planned shutdowns. Strong leadership and experience in heavy industry are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7–10 years of maintenance experience in heavy industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 3–5 years of leadership experience supervising maintenance teams.
• Experience in pulp and paper manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and process equipment.
• Experience with CMMS systems such as SAP.
• Strong understanding of maintenance planning, scheduling, and reliability principles.
• Proven leadership, communication, and team-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safety as a core value and promote a zero-injury culture.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
• Conduct safety observations, audits, and field engagement activities.
• Drive continuous improvement in safety and employee engagement.
• Lead and direct all mechanical maintenance activities within the Pulp Mill.
• Manage planners, reliability personnel, and hourly maintenance staff.
• Plan, schedule, and execute maintenance safely and efficiently.
• Develop maintenance strategies to improve reliability and reduce costs.
• Monitor maintenance performance metrics and drive improvements.
• Promote RCMM principles throughout the department.
• Support predictive and condition-based maintenance programs.
• Lead outages, shutdowns, and turnaround activities within budget.
• Coordinate contractor resources and internal teams.
• Review lessons learned and implement improvements after outages.
• Coach and develop planners and maintenance personnel.
• Support succession planning and workforce development.
