Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a Scientist, Tissue Engineering (Organ Manufacturing Group) to design and execute in vitro experiments using adult and iPSC-derived lung cells on 3D-printed models. You will optimize culture systems, co-culture methods, and bioreactors for pulmonary tissue engineering.

The role requires deep expertise in imaging and analytical assays (immunocytochemistry, gene expression, flow cytometry) and a track record of first-author publications. On-site in Manchester, NH.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Tissue Engineering, Bioengineering (or equivalent).
  • 3+ years prior research experience related to pulmonary biology, endothelial biology, iPSC-derived lineages, tissue engineering, and/or novel cell culturing contexts (graduate experience considered).
  • 2+ years industry and/or postdoctoral training.
  • Strong technical experience: imaging (microscopy, confocal, image analysis) and biological analytical assays (immunocytochemistry, gene expression analysis, ELISAs, flow cytometry, viability assays, etc.).
  • Track record of success with at least one first-author publication.
  • Experience in endothelial cell biology/vascular tissue engineering with knowledge of pulmonary biology, epithelial cells, and/or stem cell-derived lineages.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute in vitro experiments using adult and iPSC-derived lung cells on 3D-printed models.
  • Develop strategies and analytic assays to optimize culture systems, co-culture techniques, and large-scale bioreactors for pulmonary tissue engineering.
  • Develop and implement analytical assays to evaluate tissue formation and maturation on 3D printed models.
  • Record experimental details in electronic notebooks, write project reports, and present findings.
  • Coordinate with supervisor on project directions, experimental planning, and progress review.
