Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics seeks a Senior Scientist to lead cell therapy research focused on thymic iPSC-derived products. You will drive in vivo studies, model development, and biomarker discovery to support nonclinical development. Strong collaboration with immunology and development teams is essential.

The role emphasizes expertise in T-cell development, thymus biology, and advanced immune profiling, with onsite work in Cambridge, MA. PhD required and 5+ years of preclinical experience.

Qualifications

  • PhD and independent in vivo/preclinical experience.
  • Expertise in thymus biology and immune reconstitution.
  • Proven ability to design/interpret complex studies.
  • Hands-on with human/murine cells and immunoassays.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and interpret in vivo studies to assess thymic iPSC-derived cell products.
  • Develop/refine preclinical mouse models for immune reconstitution, immunosenescence, aging, and immune tolerance.
  • Investigate cellular/molecular mechanisms driving thymic regeneration, T-cell development, immune tolerance, and immunosenescence.
  • Implement high-dimensional immune profiling (e.g., flow cytometry, RNA-seq) and functional assays; develop biomarker strategies.
  • Collaborate with iPSC Research, Process Development, and Analytical Development on potency/efficacy/safety-related product attributes.
  • Generate robust PoC/pharmacology/MoA data packages to support candidate selection and nonclinical development.
  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate study results; maintain accurate documentation and data integrity.
  • Assess literature/competitive landscape; evaluate new therapeutic opportunities.
  • Mentor junior team members.
