Job summary

Mission Hospital is excited to offer a PRN Pulmonary Stepdown Registered Nurse position in Asheville, North Carolina. The RN will deliver patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and the care team, focusing on pre-operative and post-operative needs while advocating for patients to ensure an exceptional experience.

Key responsibilities include assessing patient status at admission and during shifts, documenting care, and administering medications with monitoring of responses.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse licensure must be active and in good standing.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required; Associate degree acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition on admission and each shift and report changes promptly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses.
• Document care in the medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
• Maintain knowledge of cardiac and general medical-surgical care procedures and equipment.
