Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina, invites experienced nurses to join the Progressive Care unit as a Registered Nurse Pulmonary Stepdown. You will coordinate high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers and act as a patient advocate to enhance the overall experience.

Key duties include admission assessments, medication administration, and meticulous documentation. A BSN or plan to obtain one within 5 years is preferred; NC RN licensure with possible

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in BSN with plan to obtain within 5 years.
• Current RN licensure in North Carolina (eNLC may apply) and active status.
• BLS Healthcare Provider and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting changes.
• Perform procedures or functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses.
• Maintain knowledge of meds, procedures and equipment for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
