Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC is seeking an experienced Progressive Care Registered Nurse (Pulmonary Stepdown) to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care alongside physicians and other clinicians. You will assess patients on admission and each shift, manage medications, document care, and support family education.

Requires BSN progress or degree, NC RN license, and BLS/ACLS; one year nursing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in BSN program with BSN within 5 years
• Current RN licensure in North Carolina (NCBON) and eNLC may apply
• BLS Healthcare Provider & ACLS certifications
• Master’s in Nursing (preferred) and national specialty certification (preferred)
• 1 year of nursing experience (required)

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, reporting changes in status
• Perform procedures or other functions ordered by the medical provider
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients
