Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a skilled Pulmonary Function Technologist to perform comprehensive pulmonary function testing at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. You will conduct spirometry, methacholine challenge, cardiopulmonary stress testing and indirect calorimetry, ensuring accurate results and adherence to guidelines.

The role requires an RRT credential, Nebraska RCP license, BLS/ACLS within 3 months, and at least one year in a pulmonary function lab.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of respiratory care and pulmonary function principles, practices and procedures.
• Satisfactory completion of annual mandatory education requirements.
• One year of experience working in a pulmonary function lab or Respiratory Therapy Department required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine pulmonary function testing independent of direct supervision.
• Documents procedures in patient record according to departmental procedure.
• Develops/reviews/revises plan of care to provide optimum patient care outcome.
• Maintains communication with the patient care team about condition and progress.
