Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center is seeking a Pulmonary Function Technician to perform routine and specialized pulmonary diagnostic testing in support of physicians evaluating patients’ respiratory health.

The role requires RRT/CRT licensure and BLS, with at least two years of respiratory care experience. You will coach patients, manage test protocols, calibrate equipment, and ensure a safe testing environment while collaborating with healthcare teams.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of two years of respiratory care experience.
• Experience with pulmonary diagnostic testing for pediatric through geriatric patients preferred.
• Understanding of respiratory physiology and contraindications for pulmonary function testing.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to exercise independent judgment.
• Clear communication, patient instruction, and collaboration with healthcare professionals.

Responsabilités

• Perform pulmonary function testing, including spirometry, vital capacity, and other tests as ordered.
• Explain procedures and coach patients to ensure accurate results.
• Educate patients on inhalers, nebulizers, and other respiratory devices.
• Assist ordering providers in selecting appropriate pulmonary tests.
• Complete accurate test reports, patient documentation, and billing forms.
• Calibrate equipment, perform quality control, and troubleshoot as needed.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary testing environment and follow PPE guidelines.
• Coordinate with vendors on equipment service and supplies.
• Mentor and train fellow technologists and students; assist cross-training.
• Uphold safety, quality, and patient-centered care standards.
