Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital is seeking a Pulmonary Function Technologist for per diem day shifts in the PFT Laboratory. The role involves preparing equipment, performing pulmonary function tests, and evaluating data in a high-standard clinical setting.

Requirements include an Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy, NY licensure, BCLS, and at least 1 year of spirometry and related testing experience. Per diem, Mon-Fri 8:00 AM–4:00 PM; on-site obligation with no weekends.

Qualifications

• Active NY Respiratory Therapist license required.
• 1 year experience in spirometry, lung volumes, diffusion capacity testing, six minute walk testing, arterial blood sampling and analysis.
• Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and verify laboratory equipment for pulmonary function testing.
• Collect and evaluate clinical data; perform quality control analyses.
• Conduct tests including spirometry, lung volumes, diffusion capacity and arterial blood sampling.
• Maintain lab standards and ensure on-site presence per schedule.

Education

Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy

Basic Cardiac Life Support certification

Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist by The University of the State of New York, Education Dept

1 year experience in spirometry testing, lung volume testing, diffusion capacity testing, six minute walk testing, and arterial blood sampling and analysis
