Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston is actively seeking a 20-hour Respiratory Therapist/Pulmonary Function Technologist to support quality patient care in the PFT labs and satellite clinics.

The role performs spirometry, lung volumes, diffusion capacity, ABG testing, six-minute walk, exhaled nitric oxide analysis, metabolic measurements, and hypoxia simulation, with potential involvement in research and Epic systems.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts license as Respiratory Therapist.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential.
• AS in Respiratory Therapy minimum; BS preferred.
• 1–3 years’ experience preferred; may consider recent graduates.
• BLS certification; ACLS desired.
• CPFT/RPFT desired.
• Previous PFT experience desired.

Responsabilités

• Performs Pulmonary Function Tests and arterial blood gas punctures.
• Assists with the development and revision of PFT Lab Policies and Procedures.
• Schedules for all PFT-related areas including main PFT Labs and satellite clinics.
• Provides diagnostic testing with optimal patient effort and accurate results.
• Explains procedures to patients and addresses concerns and anxieties.
• Performs ordered tests and documents/reports results.
• Coordinates education for new staff, students and inservice sessions.
• Maintains age-specific care knowledge and compliance with policies.
• Collaborates with vendors, system analysts and IT on software upgrades and problem-solving.
• Monitors systems to identify billing/documentation errors; supports Epic processes.
• May supervise respiratory therapy students.
