Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist specialized in pulmonary function testing (PFT) in the Respiratory Therapy Department. This part-time, per diem role supports critical care and outpatient services in Boston.

The ideal candidate has PFT experience, an MA-licensed RRT, NRP, and BLS certification, with a commitment to high-quality patient care and adherence to AARC guidelines. You will perform assessments, administer therapies, operate ventilators, and document outcomes

Qualifications

• PFT experience is required.
• Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to explain respiratory therapy/pulmonary function test procedures to patients.
• RRT License in Massachusetts
• NRP Certification
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides superior customer service to internal and external clients, customers, and patients.
• Reviews the medical record including physician orders for completeness and indications for therapy.
• Conducts a clinical patient assessment including cardiac, pulmonary and neurologic status.
• Assembles equipment per manufacturers specifications and departmental standards.
• Monitors equipment function during use and administers ordered therapy.
• Documents patient assessments, therapies delivered, and responses in the medical record.
