Beth Israel Lahey Health Specialty Care, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide high-quality patient care in a team-based setting. The role supports both clinical and administrative operations and reports to the Practice Manager.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED and at least 6 months of clinical classroom experience, with preferred training in BIDHC programs or related healthcare certifications. This is a patient-facing, on-site position in Massachusetts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 6 months clinical classroom.
• Preferred: Graduate from BILH Primary Care Clinical Assistant Training program, EMT Basic License, Phlebotomy Certificate, or other healthcare training.

Responsibilities

• Builds empathetic relationships with patients, families and colleagues to support patient care.
• Assists patient during visits, manages flow and informs of delays.
• Communicates hand-offs to providers for smooth care transitions.
• Performs MA duties (vital signs, EKGs, POC testing, phlebotomy, immunizations if qualified).
• Leads population health outreach and data collection to meet quality goals.
• Maintains and sanitizes equipment; ensures supplies are stocked and within expiry.
• Uses EHR to queue renewals, enter orders, and document tasks for billing.
• Schedules diagnostics and labs; verifies insurance, pre-authorizations and referrals.
• Identifies OSHA issues and protects PHI to ensure patient safety.
