Job summary

International Paper in Plant City, FL is hiring a Pull-Pack Forklift Operator. You will unload, move, and stage inbound shipments, operate the forklift and related equipment, and maintain accurate records to ensure inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
• Efficiently stack and store the items in the designated areas.
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
• Report quality variances.
• Pull and prepare product for shipment, loading exact quantity and type.
• Operate forklift and power equipment; inspect and maintain equipment daily.
• Keep records to guarantee tight inventory control and assist in inventories.
• Maintain a clean, neat work area and comply with safety policies.
• Other duties as assigned by managers and supervisors.
• Be accountable for personal load tallies.

The Job You Will Perform

• Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations
• Efficiently stack and store the items in the appropriate/designated areas
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage
• Report quality variances
• Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped
• Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, pull packs or other power equipment. Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following indicated work methods
• Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained. Assist in physical inventories
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the shipping dock as well as the plant. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with all IPs Safety policies and protocols at all times
• Other duties as assigned by managers and or supervisors/shift leader
• Be accountable for all of your personal load tallies

The Skills You Will Bring

• Minimum 2 years’ forklift experience preferred
• Previous forklift operating experience in an industrial manufacturing or other labor intensive work experience preferred
• Be able to read and understand loading instructions
• Be able to understand and follow all safety rules
• Be able to read and understand machine line up
• Able to understand and accurately utilize KIWI
• Able to utilize RF scanner and perform cycle counts to verify quantities
• MUST be dependable and reliable
• Able to interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
