Job summary

HarperCollins Christian Publishing seeks a highly organized Managing Editor to oversee production planning and data integrity across titles. You will coordinate with editorial, marketing, and creative teams, streamline workflows, and mitigate risks to ensure on-time, high-quality deliverables within budget.

The role supports hybrid work in Nashville, TN or Grand Rapids, MI, with remote options for qualified candidates. Travel may be required to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• Strong publishing processes knowledge including production, scheduling, and financial management.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Advanced Excel skills required.
• Extensive project management and planning ability.
• Experience with RSuite, Global Works Tool, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Understanding of Christian publishing industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up ISBNs, facilitate data updates, and ensure data integrity throughout product lifecycle.
• Create schedules in Asana and lead teams to ensure timely deliverables and KPIs.
• Collaborate with production on product specifications and pricing.
• Assess risks early and adjust plans to meet goals; maximize opportunities.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure smooth project execution.
• Participate in Managing Editorial meetings to improve workflows.
• Manage P&L development, approvals, and vendor/payment workflows.
• Track contract requests and ensure compliant approvals.
• Support Sales & Marketing with data for conferences and title announcements.
• Oversee transitions to POD and rights reversions.
• Map titles in Global Works Tool and maintain archives.
• Pull financial reports and analyze data.
