City of Lynchburg seeks a Training Program Coordinator to develop, facilitate, and oversee department-wide equipment, tools, and safety training initiatives. You will assess needs, design programs, and coordinate CDL training with contractors and staff.
Responsibilities include tracking licenses, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering safety training to new hires. Requires experience in training design and strong communication skills.
Develop, facilitate and oversee Department‑wide equipment, tools, job task and emergency training programs for the assigned Department of Public Works. Assess training needs; design develop and implement training programs to enhance or develop the required skills.
Compensation negotiable based on qualifications.
Six years of construction, Public Works, industrial plant and/or maintenance experience; AND two (2) years of experience developing, coordinating, and facilitating training; OR, any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities. Experienced in safety training and industry standards.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The employee must have the ability to speak effectively before employees, students, and organizations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals is needed to maintain student academic rankings in the various classes. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and averages.
Ability to communicate effectively with students, instructors, and staff.
