Job summary

The City of Lynchburg, Virginia is seeking a Training Coordinator within the Public Works Department to develop, facilitate and oversee department-wide equipment, tools, job tasks and emergency training programs. Qualifications

• Six years of construction, Public Works, industrial plant and/or maintenance experience.
• Two years of experience developing, coordinating, and facilitating training.
• Experience in safety training and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead department-wide equipment, tools, job tasks and emergency-related training.
• Assess training needs and design, develop and implement programs to enhance required skills.
• Coordinate CDL training with the City’s contractor and staff.
• Track licenses, endorsements, certifications, and training.
• Prepare training requests for proposals and work with Risk Management and HR to enforce policies.
• Respond to Public Works emergencies and assist with safety investigations.
