Job summary

The City of Spring Hill Kansas is seeking a Street/Parks Maintenance Worker I to join the Streets and Parks team in Spring Hill, KS. This non-exempt role performs hands-on labor to build, repair and maintain streets, sidewalks, medians, and park facilities in service of community safety and comfort.

Under supervision, you will operate and maintain department equipment, comply with safety policies, and assist other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and Class B CDL or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Maintain Flagger certification.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain and construct streets, alleys and sidewalks, culverts, storm sewers, catch basins, headwalls.
• Direct traffic safety using cones and barricades.
• Maintain drivable streets via sweeping, grading, patching and drainage.
• Perform maintenance in City parks: mowing, trash, landscaping, playgrounds.
• Maintain and repair buildings and structures.
• Install and maintain street signs.
