Job summary

The City of Spring Hill, Kansas is seeking a Maintenance Worker I to perform manual labor under the Street/Parks Supervisor. Duties include street, alley, and sidewalk maintenance; park upkeep; and basic equipment operation with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license with Class B CDL or ability to obtain within 6 months, Flagger certification, and NIMS training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with Class B CDL or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Maintain Flagger certification.
• NIMS training as designated.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain and construct streets, alleys and sidewalks, culverts, storm sewers, catch basins, headwalls.
• Direct traffic safety using cones and barricades.
• Maintain drivable streets by sweeping, debris removal, grading and patching.
• Maintain City park system incl. mowing, trimming, trash collection, landscaping.
• Perform maintenance on city buildings and structures and operate departmental equipment.
