Job summary

The City of Spring Hill is seeking a Maintenance Worker 2 in the Public Works Department. The role involves operating equipment and performing skilled construction and maintenance tasks as part of a full-time team.

You will report to the Construction Superintendent and support field crews in a variety of daily activities. Main duties include equipment operation, preventive maintenance, stormwater inspections, traffic control assistance, and general labor to keep sites safe and productive.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED completed.
• Valid Tennessee Driver's License.
• Stormwater Level 1 Certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates jackhammers, mowers, brush chippers, pipe saws, and other small equipment.
• Performs routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Repairs and reports defects to supervisor.
• Assists with digging, trenching, material hoisting, pipe laying, and related field tasks.
• Supports traffic control and site safety measures; maintains a clean, safe work environment.
• Maintains cleanliness and order of work areas, equipment, and tools.
