Job summary

The City of Shreveport seeks a Permit Manager who reports to the Engineers to oversee design, planning and administration of capital improvement projects, including streets and drainage. The role involves reviewing consultant plans for conformance, writing specifications, bidding projects and managing construction contracts.

You will assist in the annual capital budget, participate in consultant selection, coordinate QA/QC, and liaise with city departments and external groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree, or not less than 8 years' experience in construction/project management/related field.
• Ability to apply project management principles and cost analyses; interpret plans and review for approvals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, planning and administration of capital improvement projects (streets and drainage).
• Review consultant plans for conformance to City requirements, standards, codes, and administer contracts.
• Write specifications, bid projects, prepare construction contracts and provide construction administration.
• Coordinate QA/QC reviews of consultant and construction deliverables; liaise with City departments and external groups; attend public meetings.
