Job summary

The City of Shreveport seeks a Permit Manager to lead design, planning and administration of capital improvement projects, including streets and drainage. You will review facilities, aid annual budgets and the 5-year plan, and help select design consultants while negotiating contracts.

Responsibilities include writing specifications, bidding, construction administration, and coordinating QA/QC with city departments and agencies; attending public meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 8+ years in construction/project management/construction admin per City Engineer.
• Ability to apply PM principles, interpret plans, analyze costs, and follow policies and codes.
• Need PMP within 18 months from hire.
• Ability to maintain professional relationships, monitor progress, and write concisely.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and administer capital improvement projects for public streets and drainage.
• Review facilities for needs and feasibility analyses and assist in budget requests.
• Select design consultants and participate in contract negotiations and preparations.
• Review consultant plans for conformance to standards and administer contracts.
• Write specifications, bid projects, and provide construction administration.
• Coordinate QA/QC reviews of consultant and construction deliverables; attend public meetings.
