Job summary

City of Heath, Texas, seeks an Assistant Director of Public Works to plan, direct, supervise, and review a broad range of projects and programs across engineering and utilities. The role collaborates with the City Engineer and Director of Public Works to ensure quality, compliance, and efficient delivery of capital projects for the City and its ETJ.

Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressively responsible supervisory and administrative experience public works, water and wastewater operations, and infrastructure management.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Public Administration, Construction Management or related field.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and coordinates the Public Works input into the development activities within the city and the extra-territorial jurisdiction.
• Reviews and coordinates assigned Capital Improvement Program projects within the city.
