The incumbent in this position is responsible for coordinating and supervising the design and planning of water and wastewater facilities and/or projects, utilizing general knowledge of basic engineering theories, principles, and methods. The individual ensures compliance with government standards and regulations related to the design, permitting, and construction of all components of the water and wastewater systems. Responsibilities may include monitoring regulatory permitting and compliance issues, evaluating water and wastewater treatment operational data, and master planning of the overall utility system.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology is required. A minimum of four (4) years of experience working as an Engineer or Engineering Technologist in water/wastewater treatment and conveyance is also required. Knowledge of standard engineering concepts, practices, and procedures associated with water and wastewater treatment is essential. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. The candidate must demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is necessary. Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Water and Sewer Modeling Software, and ESRI (GIS) software packages is beneficial. The ability to travel to all reservations and work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required. In emergencies, willingness to work evenings, holidays, and weekends is also necessary.
