Job Description Summary:

The Field Project Engineer will perform Field Engineering management, conduct field inspections, oversee construction and commissioning, manage FAT at vendor workshops, develop ITPs, conduct contractor walkthroughs, review bids, and support contractor selection. The role involves leading site construction and commissioning teams to ensure project objectives, safety, schedule, cost, and quality standards are met.

  • Serve as the on-site contact for construction and commissioning management.
  • Oversee safety compliance, including site orientation, permits, safety meetings, audits, and events.
  • Verify receipt and inspection of materials, manage non-conformities, and material custody transfer.
  • Manage project documents from development to handover, ensuring quality and specifications are met.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to meet project scope, goals, and delivery timelines.
  • Develop and actively manage construction and commissioning schedules, reporting delays promptly.
  • Respond to RFIs and ensure project execution plans are followed and updated.
  • Maintain effective communication within the project team and with external partners.
  • Support contract administration and handle contractual disputes as needed.
  • Track and manage changes during project phases, maintaining logs and escalation procedures.
  • Follow up on action items and ensure timely closure.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of project aspects to fill in for the Project Manager if required.
  • Contribute to development of construction and commissioning strategies during project development.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • At least 5 years of field construction or related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (preferred)
  • Experience managing projects (a plus)
  • Industrial gas experience (a plus)
