Job summary

The City of Houston is inviting applications for a role in the Houston Public Works department, focused on managing Wastewater Operations for Emergency/Standby Generators. The position leads the Emergency Generators Team, maintains equipment, and coordinates deployments with facility supervisors.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certification in a technical field (18 months to 3 years).
• Six years of related experience in the branch/division activities.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and compliance with City of Houston driving policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing Wastewater Operations of Emergency/Standby Generators.
• Supervise the Emergency Generators Team and maintain generators.
• Coordinate generator deployments with facility supervisors; participate in afterhours on-call duty.
• Develop, update and interpret branch/division policies; improve procedures.
• Maintain records, reports and preparation of purchase orders; liaise with vendors.

Education
