Job summary

City of Oakland Park is seeking an experienced Public Works Division Manager to plan, organize, and coordinate maintenance across stormwater, streets, parks, water/sewer, fleet, and facilities. You will supervise staff, manage contracts, and ensure compliance with all regulations.

This role requires strong leadership, budgeting, HR oversight, CIP collaboration, and public outreach. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Operations and expands the department’s ability to deliver safe,

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Parks Management, or related field.
• 3–4 years progressively responsible experience in public works administration; or 15 years with supervision.
• Knowledge of budget administration, HR management, and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the division including stormwater, streets, parks, water/sewer, and fleet operations.
• Ensures compliance with all applicable ordinances, codes, and regulatory standards.
• Manages budgets, personnel actions, and CIP coordination for capital projects.
• Represents the department in meetings, conferences, and with regulatory agencies.
• Provides public outreach and coordination with other city divisions and public information.
