Job summary

Qualifications

• < 140 chars>High school diploma or GED plus 5 years in grounds/landscape maintenance with lead/supervisory experience.
• < 140 chars>Florida Class B Driver’s License required.
• < 140 chars>Certifications in Ornamental & Turf Spray and MOT training are required.

Responsibilities

• Assigns, instructs, and coordinates activities of division staff in parks, grounds, irrigation, and landscape maintenance.
• Coordinates labor, equipment, parts, materials, and supplies for work crews.
• Receives inquiries and coordinates timely resolution; responds to emergencies involving division duties.
• Reads plans/drawings; maintains records of crew and contractor work.
• Promotes OSHA and safety programs; ensures awareness of hazards.
• Coordinates and supervises operation of all equipment, power tools, and vehicles.
• Trains subordinates in safe, proper, operational practices and techniques.
• Maintains records of labor, equipment, and materials; assists in monthly reports.
• Performs manual labor and operates assigned equipment as needed.
• Monitors progress; provides guidance on complex tasks; inspects completed work.
