The City of Hopewell seeks a skilled supervisor to manage streets, building and grounds, and solid waste operations. You will oversee divisions, coordinate staff, plan daily operations, and respond to citizen inquiries.

A strong background in construction/repair and supervisory experience is required, along with a Virginia CDL. This role requires coordinating with contractors, maintaining records, and preparing reports for management, under general direction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and extensive experience in construction and repair work including supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of construction and repair methods, tools and equipment.

Responsabilités

• Manages assigned divisions and staff; assists with recruitment and selection of division personnel; directs, trains, inspects, coaches, and evaluates staff.
• Plans, organizes, and directs daily operations; prepares the annual budget, monitors expenses, and identifies equipment needs.
• Receives and responds to citizen inquiries and complaints; manages maintenance emergencies.
• Oversees work of contractors; evaluates work progress; maintains records and prepares reports for management.
