Job summary

City of Hopewell is seeking a skilled trades supervisor to plan, coordinate, supervise, and participate in construction, maintenance, and repair of streets and right-of-ways. This on-site role includes record-keeping, reports, and supervising all division personnel.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with supervisory experience in construction or grounds maintenance. Driver’s license and certain certifications may be required within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Experience in general construction, maintenance, and/or grounds keeping, including supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, review and participate in work of staff to ensure completion of projects.
• Maintain job tickets, logs and prepare reports for management.
• Assist in purchasing materials, maintain stock and equipment inventory.
• Recruit and evaluate division personnel, supervise and discipline as needed.
• Schedule crews and manage workload to ensure quality completion.
• Respond to inquiries and resolve issues; coordinate with other crews.
