Job summary

City of Maypearl is seeking an Assistant Division Manager for the Public Works Operations Division to supervise street, drainage, and landscape/irrigation maintenance. You will implement long-term strategic plans, ensure safety compliance, and manage personnel performance while coordinating with divisional leadership.

The role requires an associate degree and several years of related experience, along with a Texas driver’s license and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a related field and three years of experience in street maintenance, drainage maintenance, irrigation system repair, or related operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Possess excellent customer service skills.
• Proficiency with computers and work management software.
• Knowledge of Texas MUTCD.
• Willingness and ability to be available for emergency response.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of streets, drainage, landscape and irrigation maintenance activities and guide Operations Supervisors to safety and scheduling demands.
• Assist in coordinating strategic plans, annual work plans, and maintenance programs; support budget development and monitor expenditures.
• Oversee maintenance activities via the work management system and ensure proper use of equipment and personnel.
• Review work orders, assist in inventory control, requisition supplies, and coordinate contractor services.
• Support compliance with environmental regulations, including Storm Water and TPDES, and implement best practices.
• Conduct field inspections and address construction, repairs, and citizen inquiries; recommend operational improvements.
