Cowley County in Winfield, Kansas is seeking a Public Works Superintendent to lead the Public Works department, coordinating roads, bridges, traffic control, and maintenance programs under the County Administrator. The role requires strong supervisory skills, budgeting, policy development, and the ability to work with contractors and staff.

A engineering degree is preferred and several years of municipal public works experience are expected.

Formación

• Five to ten years of municipal public works planning, design, management, maintenance and repair experience.
• Two years of prior management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred or equivalent experience and education.
• Must have prior supervisory experience.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate in staff work for roads, bridges, and traffic projects.
• Develop goals, policies and procedures for all Public Works programs and operations.
• Monitor efficiency, effectiveness, and staffing levels; recommend improvements.
• Coordinate work with Foreman, contractors, and outside organizations; resolve conflicts.
• Oversee annual budget development and monitor expenditures.
