Job summary

City of Fishers DPW Streets is seeking a year-round part-time Laborer to perform general labor for street, right-of-way, park grounds, and facility maintenance. Expected to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays, including on-call snowplow/weather duties as needed.

The role supports DPW operations across roads, parks, and public spaces. The position requires a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions while

Qualifications

• Must be able and willing to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must have valid driver’s license and ability to be insured to drive a city vehicle.
• Position requires some evening, weekend and holiday hours.
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a variety of people.
• Able to handle several projects at the same time.

Responsibilities

• Assist in curb and street repairs, asphalt and concrete work.
• Trim trees and bushes along city roadways.
• Pick up debris and trash along right-of-ways.
• Maintain public open spaces and clean facilities.
• Assist with maintenance of park fields, irrigation, and equipment.
• Support snowplow/weather event duties.
• Set up tables, chairs, and equipment for events.
• Clean restrooms at city parks and buildings.
• Mow and weed trimming; assist with sewer cleaning equipment.
