Job summary

City of Fishers is hiring a Laborer for Water Quality and Sewer Maintenance. The role is full-time, 35 hours per week, with occasional overtime.

The Laborer will maintain sanitary sewer systems and storm drainage, assist with street and utility projects, and operate equipment such as vactor trucks and jet cleaners. Requirements include a high school diploma, a valid Indiana driver’s license (3 years driving), ability to obtain a CDL within 1 year, and the capacity to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 1 year of hire.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Experience with light to heavy duty vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform curb and inlet repairs.
• Assist with visual inspections.
• Clean sewers using a sewer jet machine.
• Sweep streets.
• Raise manhole covers when buried or below ground level.
• Trim trees and bushes along sewer easements and right of ways.
• Assist with snow removal from City streets.
• Support Public Works Department as necessary.
• Clean shop and equipment as necessary.
