Job summary

York County is hiring a full-time Heavy Equipment Operator to support Public Works and Utilities. You will operate a variety of heavy equipment, perform routine maintenance, and assist with road and bridge projects.

This position requires a valid Class B CDL, CPR/First Aid, and at least three years of equipment operation experience. Work is Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with overtime and on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Three years of operating heavy or light duty equipment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state Class B CDL; Class A preferred.
• CPR and First Aid Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment to perform maintenance on roads, bridges, and utilities projects.
• Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs on equipment and tools.
• Drive county vehicles as needed to transport equipment and materials to job sites.
• Set up traffic control and assist with on-site safety and reporting tasks.
• Complete daily and monthly work reports and work orders.
