Job summary

The City of Doral is seeking a full-time maintenance worker to perform upkeep, repair and improvement of right-of-way areas, equipment and grounds. Reporting to the Superintendent of Streets and Public Works Director, this role requires independent judgment and a strong work ethic in field conditions.

Responsibilities include mowing, repairs, painting, carpentry and routine equipment maintenance, with schedules assigned during pre-employment.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and some experience in repair and maintenance of equipment and grounds keeping work
Must be fluent in English; Spanish a plus
Valid Florida Driver's License with acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

Mowing, edging, raking, weeding and cleaning greens, roadway greenery and open spaces.
Hauling heavy material and repairing roads as needed.
Perform simple and semi-skilled building maintenance including painting, plumbing, carpentry.
Operate and maintain hand and power tools and equipment.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment and prepare sites for trades work.
Plant and prune turf, trees, shrubs and flowers; assist with seeding, fertilizing and watering.
Open/close facilities and interact with public and coworkers; comply with safety standards.
Complete tasks independently and according to schedule.
