Job summary

City of Florida City seeks a Serviceman in the Public Works Department to perform manual labor, maintenance, repair, and service duties for streets, sidewalks, parks, and other municipal infrastructure. You will operate tools and equipment and assist with daily public works operations ensuring safe, clean, and well-maintained public areas.

The position requires physical outdoor work, adherence to safety procedures, and courteous service to residents and contractors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience operating light equipment.
• Valid Florida Driver License.
• Background check and acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, parks, and public property.
• Operates light and heavy equipment, vehicles, and power/tools.
• Loads and transports materials such as asphalt, concrete, gravel, and debris.
• Performs pre-use inspections and reports safety issues.
• Sets up traffic control devices and safety signage as directed.
• Completes work orders and daily activity records.
• Provides courteous service to residents and contractors.
