Job summary

The City of Cibolo seeks a GIS Technician to collect, create, update, and QA/QC water and wastewater GIS data using ESRI tools and mobile data collection. The role supports end users, maintains GIS datasets, and ensures data accuracy for city operations.

Requirements include a GIS-related bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience with ArcGIS and GPS, plus proficiency in MS Office 365. A Texas driver's license is required; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Planning, or related field.
1 year of experience with ESRI ArcGIS software and survey-grade GPS technology.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and ArcGIS Online.
Familiarity with CAD (DWG/DFX) preferred, not required.
Basic programming/scripting knowledge (Python/Arcade) preferred, not required.
Valid Texas Class C Driver's License.

Responsibilities

Maintain authoritative GIS datasets and hosted layers for Public Works operations.
Interpret and transfer data from source documents and as-built drawings.
Locate and compile data from diverse sources; perform QA/QC on GIS data.
Collect field data using GPS and integrate with current datasets.
Assist staff in GIS-related tasks and intradepartmental projects.
Draft exhibits and run geographic analyses for utility operations.
Create and maintain GIS documentation and metadata.
