Job summary

The Town of Nantucket Department of Public Works seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to service and operate a range of heavy equipment and trucks. Under the Central Fleet Manager, you will perform diverse maintenance tasks and operate tools with a focus on roadway maintenance.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, up to 3 years experience, Class D license on hire, and CDL Class B with tanker endorsement within 2 years.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Up to three years of experience in grounds and roadway maintenance.
• Class D Massachusetts license at time of hire.
• CDL Class B with tanker endorsement required within two years of date of hire.
• Hoisting License (2A, 4E or 4G) required within two years.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service work vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Operate and maintain a variety of light and heavy motor equipment.
• Service, repair and maintain trucks and equipment.
• Use a range of power and hand tools.
