The Town of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts is seeking a Business Manager to lead the financial and administrative heart of the Department of Public Works. You will manage a DPW Business Management team of 8 full-time employees, oversee budgeting, billing, accounts payable, and internal controls, while developing streamlined procedures and using data to guide decisions.

You will work across all DPW divisions to strengthen communication, elevate customer service, and foster a 'One Team' culture rooted

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 5+ years in business/municipal accounting or related field.
• Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Strong leadership and delegation abilities; coaching staff effectively.

Responsabilités

• Direct the DPW Business Management functions: Customer Service, Utility Billing, Financials, Permitting, and Solid Waste.
• Oversee hiring, training, and performance management for 8 FTEs.
• Manage budgeting, enterprise fund accounting, bank reconciliations, and billing for utilities.
• Present financial reports and budgets to boards; manage vendor relations and resident inquiries.
• Collaborate with Town Leadership to maintain billing platforms and implement new tech.
