Job summary

Spokane County is seeking a professional to perform accounting, supervisory, and administrative duties in the County Road department. You will apply advanced accounting principles, supervise staff, and help develop financial policies and procedures.

The role requires a bachelor’s in accounting and 4+ years of related experience; CPA/CPP/CAPA is preferred. Strong oversight of grants, contracts, and reporting will be essential for compliance and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 4 years of progressive accounting/financial experience.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating accounting activities.
• CPA/CPP/CAPA preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee complex accounting, cost analysis, and reporting of funds and contracts.
• Review journal entries and payments; supervise accounting staff.
• Prepare financial reports and ensure compliance with grants and laws.
