Job summary

City of Lake Charles is seeking a Foreman to supervise daily work assignments for crews of Large Equipment Operators and General Maintenance Workers. The Foreman will participate in the work supervised and promote safe, efficient procedures.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and a CDL with endorsements. The position is non-exempt, hourly, with responsibilities including scheduling, reporting, and supervision of 4-20 staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months to one year related experience and/or training.
• A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements is required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily work assignments of crews of Large Equipment Operators and General Maintenance Workers.
• Participate in the work supervised by the Foreman.
• Promote safety and improve work procedures and methods.
• Assign work schedules and ensure completion of routes.
• Maintain records of time and location of work performed.
• Supervise Equipment Operators I-III and maintenance staff.
• Perform other assigned duties.
