Job summary

The City of Rowlett is seeking an Assistant Director of Public Works - Engineering to serve as City Engineer and lead CIP planning, plan reviews, ROW permitting, and infrastructure delivery.

You will mentor engineers and staff, oversee budgets, schedules, and consultant deliverables, and coordinate with other departments and external agencies to advance critical streets, water, and drainage projects under Texas rules. A PE license and Texas licensure reciprocity are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of professional civil engineering experience.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
• PE license required or Texas licensure via reciprocity within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct CIP planning, scheduling, budgeting, and delivery of capital projects.
• Oversee engineering plan reviews, construction inspection, and ROW permitting.
• Coordinate with developers, contractors, and other City departments on engineering standards.
