Job summary

Civil Science seeks an experienced Public Works Division Manager to lead and grow its ND public works practice. You will oversee Project Managers, Engineers, Surveyors, and staff, reporting to the Area Manager, and drive technical excellence and business development.

The role requires a ND PE license, a civil engineering degree, and 12+ years in public works with strong client relationships. Travel across ND and neighboring states may be required.

Qualifications

• ND PE license is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required.
• 12+ years of experience in public works and civil infrastructure projects (water, sewer, storm sewer, land development).
• Proven ability to develop and sustain revenue-generating client relationships in ND public works market.
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel across North Dakota and surrounding states.

Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction for the public works division.
• Lead division planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
• Drive division-level quality, risk management, and safety compliance.
• Develop staff through mentoring and performance programs.
• Represent Civil Science in municipal, regional, and state forums and industry organizations.
