Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians is seeking a Department of Public Works Director to lead the Public Works Department, including water and wastewater utilities serving tribal government buildings, the Odawa Casino Resort, and community properties. You will manage budgets, staff, and contractors, and ensure compliant operations across all systems.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 2 years of supervisory experience, with licensure goals including

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 2 years supervisory/managerial experience.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the Tribe’s carrier.
• Must obtain within 12 months: Michigan Wastewater Operator Class D license.
• Must obtain within 12 months: Michigan Drinking Water Operator – S-3 or F-3.
• Storm Water Industrial Site Certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Supervises Water & Wastewater Operations employees and contractors.
• Oversees wastewater treatment plant, lift stations, wells, storage towers, and distribution systems.
• Develops departmental work plans with goals, timelines, and evaluations.
• Conducts rate studies for wastewater billing with accounting and engineering staff.
• Prepares and monitors department budgets and compliance with grants and contracts.
• Establishes safety, maintenance, and operational procedures for water systems.
• Monitors plant performance and regulatory testing; maintains records and reports.
• Coordinates projects with LTBB departments, contractors, and agencies.
• Responds to emergencies related to water, wastewater, and public works.

Educación

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, public works management, water/wastewater technology, or related field
